     Activities

Away from the water, there is bowling, roller skating, horse riding, ultralight aircraft rides and bungee jumping. As well, there are golf courses and scores of tennis courts. Mountain bike tours and jungle tours can also be arranged. For a fast, white-knuckle boat ride on the Río Papagayo, try the New Zealand import, the Shotover Jet. And if it's the kind of thing that takes your fancy, you can watch a bullfight, held weekly at the Plaza de Toros. Of course if the nightlife has kept you up to the wee hours, you can always sleep all day.

Acapulco ShoppingShopping:
There is no shortage of good shopping venues for visitors to Acapulco. These range from upscale boutiques to traditional handicraft shops. Boutiques and market places, make it almost impossible to leave without buying several gifts and souvenirs Popular shopping items include designer clothing at discount prices, hand-made leather goods, local textile handicrafts, silver jewelry, hand-painted ceramics, and paintings by local Mexican artists.

Take an hour or two to wander through the public market where local Acapulqueños shop for necessities. There is no touristy glitz, just everyday goods displayed in a labyrinth of stalls with meat and vegetables, hand-carved wooden items, baskets, flowers, magic potions, and leather sandals. The best time to arrive is early in the morning, since most vendors close down at 1PM. The Market is open daily.

Acapulco GolfGolf:
Acapulco is a haven for golfers with five great courses. Club de Golf Acapulco, a nine hole course right in town is really easy to get to and a lot of fun to play. The unique layout of Club de Golf allows you to play 18 holes without covering the same area twice.

Four well kept championship courses should fulfill the dreams of even the most hardcore golfer. All four of the championship courses are located to the south of town, near the airport, in an area known as Playa Diamante. Two of the courses, The Acapulco Princess and The Pierre Marqués, are located side by side. The Mayan Palace golf and tennis complex is a short distance away. The waterfront course at Tres Vidas is a short distance down the beach to the south and surely on of the most beautiful courses in Mexico.

Acapulco TennisTennis:
Acapulco offers plenty of tennis facilities, tennis buffs will find more courts than most other Mexican resorts. Club de Tenis Panoramic is a charming little tennis club, located in the hills above Playa Condesa, with two very well kept clay courts.
